Biometric identification system

AI intended to identify persons by comparing biometric data to a reference database.

Art. 3(35)Art. 5(1)(d)

Definition

A biometric identification system recognises a natural person by automatically comparing their biometric data — face, gait, voice — with biometric data stored in a reference database. Certain uses in publicly accessible spaces are prohibited or tightly restricted. Ordinary ecommerce photo editing has nothing to do with this category.
